HIS new double album Scorpion has gone platinum after shattering streaming records with ten million Spotify plays per hour.
And now Drake is planning to celebrate his success at this weekend’s Wireless Festival.
It comes as he makes a bid for this week’s No1 album — going head-to-head with Florence + The Machine’s High As Hope.
A source said: “Drake is known for his surprise appearances, having performed at the Reading festival and London’s Xoyo last year.
“But he’s now planning his biggest surprise to tie in with the launch of his latest album.
“Giggs and DJ Khaled have asked him to come out on stage with them on Sunday as they bring the festival to a close. Drake is already in London for a party for his brand OVO on Saturday so it was the perfect timing to squeeze in a performance.
“With 50,000 music fans attending it’s the perfect place to showcase his album and thank fans for their support.”
Drake’s performance will follow Post Malone, Stormzy, Wiley and Big Shaq who are all performing at the event.
And there’s a chance Drake could bump into former flame Raye who is singing on Saturday — after The Sun revealed the pair, who have previously worked together, had enjoyed a string of dates this year.
His appearance comes after he opened up about his secret son on his new album.
He’s certainly set the standard for how to drop a record.
